about
Mike Hex began penning this song for his solo acoustic project. While practicing for his first show, he asked Kelley O'Death to accompany him on vocals, and they set out to finish the song together. By the time the song was complete, they had officially formed Heart Full of Snakes. "Stumble Home" is literally the song that started it all.
Unlike most songs on the record, this track features no guest musicians or additional instrumentation in order to honor the simplicity of its origins.
lyrics
Sittin' on a barstool, drunk as the day is long. The Clash on the jukebox and I'm singing along. I've been here since noon and I really should go, but how do you pick yourself up when you're so low? And I don't know what tomorrow will bring, and I don't care. Because I know you won't be there when I stumble home. Sittin' on the waterfront, smokin' like a locomotive. Wishin' you were here, but questioning my motives, (my shady motives). I got work in the morning and I really should go, (go home), but how do you pick yourself up when you're so low? Sittin' in my room, staring at my cell phone, resigning myself to another night alone.
